Ever wonder if your child really loves you? Even if you don't get an amazing Valentine, here are 7 sure signs your child loves you!

1- Your newborn stares into your eyes. He's actually working hard to memorize your face. He doesn't understand anything else about the world, but he knows you're important. And safe.

2- Your baby thinks about you even when you're not around. Between 8 and 12 months old, he'll start to scrunch his face and look around when you leave the room - and smile big when you return!

3- Your toddler throws wicked tantrums. Fists clenched, kicking and screaming, drop to the floor, horrifying as a parent tantrums Nope, those screaming fits don't mean he's stopped loving you. He wouldn't be so hurt and angry if he didn't trust you so deeply.

4- Your toddler runs for you for comfort when he is hurt or sad. Kids this age may not truly understand the meaning of "I love you", but their actions speak louder than words.

5- Your preschooler gives you a flower he picked from the garden (or someone else's garden...gasp!), a sparkly rock, a fingerpainted heart, or another gift. Just from them. Straight from the heart. Ahhhh. The best.

6- Your preschooler wants your stamp of approval. He'll start to be more cooperative around the house and look for chances to impress you. "Look at me!" is the common catch phrase.

7- Your grade schooler trusts you with secrets - like the first crush, an embarassing moment, or who said what to whom and when. You are his confidante, even if he does pull away from a kiss from Mom in public.

So take heart. You child does love you. He shows it without even saying a word. Usually...
